Sadly all top reviews are for a rather different product from 2010. Same name, same look, but everything inside is different - mainly, the Wifi chipset. The current version is v5 and uses a Realtek chipset (8192eu), which is okay but is not nearly as good as the original Atheros chipset of the v1.
It usually disconnected after a few minutes of heavy use, such as torrenting, streaming a movie from Hulu, or uploading a heavy amount of data to my server; sometimes it would disconnect randomly.
It was cheap; and "just worked" when I plugged it into my Ubuntu laptop
At random times, the card would disconnect and not re-associate with the AP; To get back on the wireless network, I'd have to unplug the adapter, and then plug it back in.
My wireless adapter arrived today, the packaging was very neat and the USB looked very stylish. On the box were very very easy instructions on how to install the driver on windows vista, XP and 7.
Cheap; stylish; decent connection; easyish to set up
Hard to understand technical support; disconnects randomly
i bought this for an older computer so i could connect wirelessly. installation was a breeze, and i'm very pleased wtih its performance. i'm getting strong connection and very fast speeds using this.
range; strong connection
Been using this for almost three years. It works amazingly on my computer I built in 2008. Connectivity speeds are great and I've never had an issue with it!
I bought this wireless USB to plug with my Western Digital Live Plus streaming device. The WD device was able to detect the USB wireless device with no problem, however whenever I restarted my WD device - always lose the connection to my router and had to re-configure the wiresless USB.
If you're like me and you're buying this to give your WDTV media player (Live, Plus, Hub, etc) wireless network, don't bother as Western Digital currently only supports v2 of the TL-WN821N and I think everyone shipping these things now (including Future Shop) is shipping v3.0 or v3.1 and that's
performs as advertised
Bought this product as my older Lapptop constantly interrupted traffic. This product has not brötit once since I bought it. At over a week! The speed I get is about: 150Mbps and then I sit about 3m from my Belkin router. Extremely affordable!
